(Bill) William Bethel Grogan Jr.

March 30, 1926 — January 15, 2017

(Bill) William Bethel Grogan, Jr., 90, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the New Haven Living Center in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 12507 Mt. Tabor Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the church. Burial with military rites will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Bill was born on March 30, 1926 in Pauline, Nebraska to William Bethel Grogan, Sr. and Ara (Winters) Grogan. He graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, NE. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kirksville State Teaching College, In Kirksville, MO. Bill served in the United States Navy from March 25, 1944 to June 11, 1946 and then he served in the United States Army from September 18, 1950 until being honorably discharged on June 2, 1952. Bill served in World War II. On September 16, 1950 he married Margaret Alice (Tuder) Grogan in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Bill retired from the State of Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation as a Counselor. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Bill enjoyed building and carpentry.

In addition to his wife Margaret, Bill is survived by two children, Sharon Dzula of Chilhowee, MO and Mal Grogan and wife Carolyn of Sachse, Texas; Four grandchildren, Julie Wolf and husband Dean of Oregon, Alex Dzula of Chilhowee, MO, Scott Dzula and wife Nastashia, stationed in Hawaii, and Garot Grogan of Sachse, TX; five great grandchildren, Toby, Tatum, Elias, Izaiah and Micah Christopher; and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two grandsons, Christopher Grogan and Micah Wilson; and three sisters, Flora Grogan, Eileen Langston and Jody Bonta.
