David “Fergy” Milton Ferguson, 84 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Shangri-La Rehab & Living Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524 with Brother David Howie officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association Heartland Chapter. David was born on June 18, 1932 in Odessa, MO to Ralph and Sylvia (Cushard) Ferguson. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1950. On February 17, 1968 he married Carol (Kearney) Ferguson, in Oklahoma. David worked as the Plant Supervisor for the City of Odessa Power Plant from 1972 until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with his family and friends he enjoyed racing sprint cars, go karts, riding his motorcycle, bird hunting, and cruising around town in his Cadillac.
Survivors include three children, Kim Corn of Odessa, MO, Kevin Kearney and wife Marsha of Odessa, MO, Dana Davis and husband Jim of Wellington, MO; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and a very special friend, Pat Coffey of Odessa, MO.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by a son, Daryn Kearney.
Pallbearers: Brett Davis, Michael Davis, Billy Corn, Denny Corn, Brett Corn, Justin Brandel.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bob “Slug” Slusher, Kevin Kearney, Jim Davis and Raymond Ferguson.
