DOROTHY ELIZABETH PETSCH
Dorothy Elizabeth (Wilson) Petsch, 89, of Lexington,passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her home.
Dot was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 1, 1927, the daughter of Anna Eugenia Phillips and William Charles Wilson, Jr. She was raised in Metuchen, NJ. She graduated from Metuchen High School in 1945. Dorothy went on to complete a three year course of study in The United States Nurse Corps at Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing in Plainfield, NJ, passing her state boards to become a registered nurse in December 1948.
In 1948, she married Richard A. Petsch and they had five children. The family came to Lexington, MO in 1966. Among other places, she worked at the Lexington Hospital and as a county health nurse and later, administrator for Lafayette County Health Department, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed many years of travel with her husband.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, William C. Wilson III. She is survived by a sister, Ruth (Ray) Primka, sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Wilson, children Kathy (Rob) Frazier, Linda (Steve) Dees, Sue (Jeff) McAllister, Richard R.(Charlene, whom she counted as a daughter) Petsch, and Jamie Rigden (and husband Mark DeWolfe), as well as twelve grandchildren, four great grandsons, three nieces and three nephews.
Services will be at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Interment in Lexington Memory Gardens. Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the funeral at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dorothy Wilson Petsch Scholarship Endowment, Muhlenberg Foundation, the Richard A. Petsch Scholarship Endowment, Rutgers Preparatory School, Crossroads Hospice or God�s Mountain Camp.
