EUGENE HENRY SCHLAPPER
Eugene Henry Schlapper, 83, of Lexington passed away at his home March 21, 2017. Memorial services will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00pm at St Paul's Church, Napoleon, Missouri, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00pm, also at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lexington FFA.
Eugene was born December 11, 1933 in Napoleon to Wilbert and Bertha Friedrich Schlapper. He married Peggy Oberhelman on June 27, 1959, they later divorced. Eugene was a member of St. Paul's Church. He served in the Navy and later worked in new product training and development for Outboard Marine Corp.
Eugene is survived by his son David Schlapper (Wendy O'Linn) of Libertyville, Illinois; one sister, Cela Kaiser and husband Paul of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister in law, Joyce Schlapper; and six grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, Jonathan, Kelly, Kevin and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Eugene's long time partner, Lanna Jane Rios; and one brother, Victor Schlapper.
