Robert Gant, 80, of Lexington, passed away at his home on May 21, 2017. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Second Baptist Church in Lexington. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, May 30, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, rural Lexington.
Robert was born in Higginsville, Missouri on May 30, 1936 to Jack and Thelma Demery Gant. Robert was an Army veteran and worked in the freezer department for Flemings Foods. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lexington.
Robert is survived by his children, Kathryn M. Handley of Kansas City, Kansas and Gloria J. Lastiee of Grandview, Missouri; and a host of step children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Robert Gant, Jr.; a brother Cornelius "Tieye" Gant; and two sisters Anna Marie Gant Turner and Lucille I. Gant Thompson.
