Susie Beryle (Cobbs) Colvin McDonald

Susie Beryle (Cobbs) Colvin McDonald, 97 of Winfield, Kansas formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Susie was born on June 5, 1919 in Oak Grove, Missouri to Thomas William Stone and Sophia Ilene (Sherwood) Cobbs. She graduated in 1937 from Mayview High School in Mayview, MO. She married John (Jay) Colvin on May 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1986. Susie was then united in marriage to Clifton (Mick) McDonald on July 28, 1988 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2008. She retired from Executone in Overland Park, KS as a Bookkeeper on August 16, 1976 after many years of service. Susie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat Mommas and Bee Squares. In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed square and round dancing, sewing, music, exercising, playing cards, playing bingo at Presbyterian Manor, and watching old movies.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Morris and husband Dennis of Winfield, KS; a step-daughter, Janet Whitehead and husband Wayne of Independence, MO; one granddaughter, Kelly Bailey and husband Chris of Wichita, KS; three great grandchildren, Grant Bumgardner, Emily Bailey and Alexis Bailey; and one step-granddaughter, Heather Felix and husband Brian of Oak Grove, MO.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Susie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Morris; a grandson-in-law, Jeffrey Bumgardner; a brother, Robert William Cobbs; and a sister, Thora Lea Cobbs.
