William H. O’Dell, Jr., 79, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Wellington, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO.
Junior was born September 20, 1936 in Bosworth, MO to William Harold O’Dell, Sr. and Dortha McDonough O’Dell. Junior had retired from Lake City Munitions where he was a supervisor. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Junior was a member of the A.F.A.M. Masonic Lodge #149, the Shriners, the Elks, and V.F.W. Post 4052 in Lexington, MO.
Junior is survived by a sister, Betty Sue Bell, St. Joseph, MO. and a half-sister, Barbara Jean Baer, Columbia, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Merlin Wayne “Bob†O’Dell, sister, Dixie Arlene Griswold, step-sister, Marilyn K. Jones and a step-brother, Gary W. Calfee.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067 (660) 259-2245. There will be no memorial service. Burial in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO with military rites. Memorials can be made to the Veterans Home in Cameron, MO or to Comfort Care Hospice.
