Dawson Haywood Heathman

Dawson Haywood "Slick" Heathman, 82, of Lexington, passed away May 10, 2018 at Riverbend Heights Care Center, Lexington. Funeral service will be Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will also be on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal, Lafayette County Cancer Coalition or Beacon of Hope Hospice.

Slick was born August 26, 1935 in Lexington to Dawson Heathman and Mary Burnett Heathman Bowers. He married Sharron Jenkins on August 11, 1965 in Lexington. Slick was the Lafayette County Assessor for 24 years. He was a past president and treasurer for the Missouri Assessors Association. He was a member of the Elks, the Sons of the Confederacy, the Wentworth Alumni Association, the Lexington Historical Society and Christ Church Episcopal. He was also a member and past board member of the Higginsville Country Club.

Slick is survived by his wife Sharron, of the home; children, David Heathman of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Lori Bitter of Napa Valley, California, Shannon Heathman and wife Anissa of Higginsville and Dirk Heathman of Higginsville; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step son Russell McMillan.
