Jaunita Maxine (Jeffries) Bowles, 95 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Lutheran Good Shepherd Home in Concordia, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday August 7, 2017 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday August 7, 2017. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Greenton Cemetery Association or the Odessa Back Snack Program. Jaunita was born on August 22, 1921 in rural Odessa, MO to Joseph Alvin and Bertha Clay (Goodloe) Jeffries. She graduated in 1939 from Odessa High School and then in 1944 from the Missouri State Teachers College. On December 14, 1944 she married Lester Hyatt. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1966. In addition to being a homemaker and helping on the family farm, Jaunita also taught school from 1941 to 1944 at the Cabbage Neck School southeast of Wellington. She then taught at Tyree School south of Fortyville and then for 2 years at Fairview southwest of Wellington. In 1967 Jaunita retired from farming and moved to Odessa in October of 1983. On May 12, 1967 she married Marvin Sundermeyer. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1983. On July 23, 1994 Jaunita married Howard Wayne Bowles and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. Jaunita taught Sunday school, played the piano and organ. She was a member of the Pulpit Committee, AARP-Odessa, and the Odessa Senior Center.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Mike Redden of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren, Stacy Begemann and husband Mike of Odessa and Brad Redden and wife Kendra of Odessa, MO; three great grandchildren, Joe Redden, Pat Redden and Trent Begemann all of Odessa, MO.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Jaunita was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Elaine Redden.
