Richard Allen Nevels, 71, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. Visitation will be held one hour prior starting at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lexington Memory Gardens. Richard was born on October 21, 1945 in Odessa, Missouri to Ralph and Alice (Robinette) Nevels. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. On February 28, 1968 he married Caroline Beatrice (Collins) Nevels in Independence, MO. Caroline survives of the home. Richard was a Truck Driver and Independent Owner and Operator for over 30 years. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic cars.

Richard is survived by his wife, Caroline Nevels of Lexington, MO; four children, Eric Nevels and wife MaryAnn of Ashland, MO, Lisa Schofield and husband Garry of Warrensburg, MO, Tracy Nevels of Lexington, MO and Christie Williams and husband Derek of Lexington, MO; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; two brothers, Danny Nevels and wife Yolanda of Odessa, MO and Robert Nevels and wife Kay of Lexington, MO.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelley Brooks.
