William John Blass

January 23, 1933 — March 19, 2018

William John Blass, 85, of Lexington, passed away March 19, 2018 at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville. Memorial service will be Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:30am at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will also be on Friday at the funeral home from 10:30 until 11:30am. Inurnment will be at a later date in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington. Memorials may be to Crossroads Hospice, Meyer Care Center or C.A.R. (Cancer Assistance Relief).

Bill was born January 23, 1933 in Early, Iowa to John and Florence (Steeg) Blass. His mother died when he was four years old. He was then raised by his step mother Pearl Blass. He served in the United States Army. Bill married Sheri (McLane) Blass on November 12, 1983 in Kansas City. He was a vice president for Capital Federal in Kansas City and owned care centers across the United States. He also owned Investment Services in Lexington. Bill was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Lexington Rotary Club, the American Legion, the Historical Association, Lexington Tourism and served on the board for the Lexington Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include Bill's wife, Sheri, of Lexington; two daughters, Christine Todd of Leawood, Kansas and Elizabeth Blass of Las Vegas, Nevada; step daughter, Kelly Anne McLane and husband Jared Pankin of Havila, California; step son, Michael McLane of Roseburg, Oregon; granddaughter, Emily Holladay and husband Jason of Denver, Colorado; and brother, Edward Blass of Topeka, Kansas.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son in law, Alan Todd.
