William Norles, Jr.

June 30, 1944 — March 10, 2019

William “June” Norles, Jr., 74, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away March 10, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:00 am at Second Baptist Church in Lexington. Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church.
William was born June 30, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia to William L. Norles and Jessie B. Bose.
Upon completion of graduation in 1963 at Lexington High School, William entered the United States Air Force. After the end of his tour overseas in England he returned to Lexington to further his education at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, graduating in 1970 with a AA degree. William also attained a BA in Business Management from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Lexington and was always willing to help those in need.
Because of his love for the military, he spent 35 years in the Missouri National Guard. William worked 20 plus years at Lake City Arsenal and upon his retirement he loved gardening and collecting antiques. He also loved cooking for family and friends on holidays. He was very generous and no one who spent time with William would ever go hungry.
William is survived by his partner, Lena Brown of Lexington; sons, Neal Norles of Kansas City, Missouri and Lincoln Norles of Lexington; brothers, James (Song) Norles of Alabama, Alvin Norles of Kansas City, Larry Norles of Lexington, Chris Norles of Kansas City and Shawn Smith (Natalie) of Independence, Missouri; sisters, Jessica Norles of Minnesota, Valerie Larbi of Kansas City and Robinette Smith of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Nina Harker.
